Thanks for your help. Yesterday I was finally able to do a test install via burned Image of a Win7 Home Premium 64-bit iso download from Microsoft. There is only one Driver missing in Device Manager. I'll send a DM screen-shot showing the missing Driver when my friend gets the Win7 Media (32-bit & 64-bit) with License around Sept. 21 - it only cost $33 delivered from a very reliable e-Bay Dealer. By process of elimination, it will hopefully be easy to determine what's missing.
It sure runs fast compared to WinXP minus all the pre-installed bloat ware - has 2GB Memory and AMD single-core CPU. Important P.S. To my Post above.It is VERY disappointing that HP has removed Driver Support from their PCs after 10 years - even the ftp site (including Maintenance and Service Guides for disassembly, Memory upgrades, HDD replacement, etc.). It's like HP is building in PC obsolescence for most Users. Someone from HP needs to restore those. However, I f ound this EXCELLENT website which appears to have complete legacy driver sets for old PCs.It's legit, tested with and the SR2030NX Windows XP chipset sp26802 found above has a valid VeriSign Digital Signature from HP. At first I thought the Device Manager issue was chipset related, so that's how I found the source above. Anyway, this is better than driverguide.com in how it is organized. Just type in your PC Model upper right as I did using SR2030NX.
